The impact of different services on the outage probability in UMTS

چکیده
Abstracr--In this paper, we deal with the uplink outage probability for a UMTS cellular network at a reference base station equipped with a smart antenna. Users are assumed to be distributed according to a planar Poisson point proce:rs. Their respective transmission rates are modeled by independent random variables. This leads to a compound Poisson process for the total data rate to be served in a cell by code division multiplexing. Outage occurs if the total rate exceeds the effective chip rate (3.84 MChipk divided by the minimum required bit energy to noise power ratio). Circulant matrices, a normal approximation, and Monte Carlo integration are employed to determine the outage probability as a performance parameter of the system. Outage Analysis for Multi-connection Multiclass Services in the Uplink of Wideband CDMA Cellular Mobile Networks
In this paper, we address the data link layer quality of service (QoS) issue by investigating the outage probabilities for multi-connection multiclass services in the uplink of a wideband CDMA cellular mobile network. Four Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) QoS classes are served within each mobile user simultaneously. Each class has different QoS constraints. Assuming perfect po...
متن کاملOutage Probability Bound and Diversity Gain for Ultra-Wideband Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Correlated Noises
In this paper, Ultra-wideband (UWB) multiple access relay channel with correlated noises at the relay and receiver is investigated. We obtain outer and inner bounds for the IEEE 802.15.3a UWB multiple access relay channel, and also, a diversity gain bound. Finally, we evaluate some results numerically and show that noise correlation coefficients play important role in determining relay position.
متن کاملOutage Probability in GSM-GPRS Cellular Systems With and Without Frequency Hopping
General Packet radio service (GPRS) is designed for transmitting packet data and supposed to take its radio resource from the pool of unused channels by GSM voice services. Obviously, the introduction of GPRS has impact on the voice services. In this paper, we present a method to calculate the outage probability of the GSM-GPRS network for both the non-frequency hopping and the frequency hoppi...

Minimizing the outage probability and maximizing throughput are two important aspects in device to device (D2D) communications, which are greatly related to each other. In this paper, first, the exact formulas of the outage probability for D2D communications underlaying or overlaying cellular network are derived which jointly experience Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) and Rayleigh multipat...
